Sue Anderson, Head of External Affairs, CML

Sue Anderson joined the Building Societies Association in 1990 after a degree in Classics and a brief spell as a book editor. She held a variety of roles until 1997, when she joined the fledgling management team of the newly de-merged Council of Mortgage Lenders. As Head of External Affairs, she runs a team which represents lenders’ views to the media and Parliament. She has also had extensive involvement in the Mortgage Code and in a range of CML policy development. She has been a housing association board member and has also undertaken charity consultancy work. At present, however, her non-working time is devoted to her two young sons, aged three and one.
